Tulsa offers 140 parks covering 6,000 acres including nature centers, golf courses, Tulsa Zoo & Living Museum, Tulsa Garden Center, 21 swimming pools, 156 sports fields, 115 playgrounds, 123 tennis courts, 25 water playgrounds, River SkatePark, 60 picnic areas, 14 community centers, fitness facilities, gymnasiums, nature and walking trails, and many places where Tulsans play. River Parks. Runners, bikers, skaters and walkers play on River Park’s 20 miles of trails along the banks of the Arkansas River. Enjoy scenic playgrounds and picnic areas, watching rowers on the river, a Frisbee disk golf course, airboat tours, entertainment at the floating amphitheater, and the x-treme sport Skatepark. River Skatepark features the latest ramps, and 24 elements, including half and quarter pipes, grind rails and ledges, jump boxes, and pyramids for all skill levels. The annual Fourth of July and Oktoberfest celebrations are longstanding River Parks traditions. A converted railroad bridge provides pedestrians with a great view of Tulsa’s downtown skyline.

Woodward Park. Stop and smell the roses as you stroll through 9,000 rose bushes in the All-American Rose Society Test Garden between Woodward Park and the Tulsa Garden Center. A wooded 40 acres in the heart of Tulsa, the historic Woodward Park boasts gorgeous azaleas, tulips, dogwoods, redbuds, and flower and herb gardens that attract nature lovers all year long.

Tulsa Garden CenterTulsa Garden Center. At the Tulsa Garden Center in Woodward Park, a Victorian conservatory and a 3-acre arboretum provide horticultural and environmental education. The Center promotes learning about plants through recreational programs, preserving the heritage of its historic building and advocating stewardship of plants and their habitats through lectures, classes, shows, events and environmental activities. Visitors can enjoy the collection of photographs displayed, as well as rooms that still retain the craftsmanship and charm of the original home. The extensive woodcarvings, flamboyant gold leaf ceilings and dramatic marble floors are a few of the elements preserved. Tulsa Garden Center also features the finest horticultural library in this part of the country, with over 5,000 volumes on horticulture, botany, and landscaping for gardeners and students. Tulsa Country Club (Private). A showcase course, Tulsa Country Club offers a variety of golf activities for members and guests. Set on 161 beautiful acres in Tulsa, the breathtaking, 18-hole course features deep bunkers, undulating greens and a pond in the center. Founded in 1908, TCC is one of the top five courses in Oklahoma according to Golf Week Magazine, and has hosted numerous tournaments and exhibitions with top PGA professionals. Host to the Tulsa Championship, an official LPGA event, TCC was host to the NCAA Championship in 1999, the Williams LPGA Championship in 2001 and 2002, and the John Q. Hammons Hotel Classic in 2003. LaFortune Park Golf CourseLaFortune Park Golf Course. LaFortune Park G.C. is a championship layout located in the heart of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Originally built in 1960, the traditional layout has recently gone under an extensive renovation, rebuilding greens, tees, bunkers, cart paths and water hazards - making it one of finest municipal golf courses anywhere. LaFortune Park boasts an 18-hole championship golf course with difficult par 4's and par 5's, an 18-hole lighted Par 3 course, and a lighted driving range. It also includes two chipping and pitching areas, and two large putting greens, and an award- winning pro shop. The most demanding hole is #4, a 438-yard, par 4. Mohawk Golf Course. Play two of Tulsa's most historic public courses at Mohawk Park Golf Club. Set in the natural beauty of Tulsa’s Mohawk Park, the course’s 36 challenging holes feature varying elevations, natural hazards and a few long holes that let you try out all the clubs in your bag. Built in the 1920s, the Woodbine Course features mature oak and pecan trees, little water, and generous fairways with large greens. A par of 72 from the middle tees, there are three par-3 holes and three par-5 holes on the classic design. The Pecan Valley Course, built in the 1950s, challenges with tight driving areas, mature trees, and many water hazards coming into play often. The par 70 course has five par-3 holes and three par 5 holes, along with 10 of the best par-4 holes anywhere. The front nine of the Pecan Valley Course was modified with additional tees for beginning youth. Page Belcher Golf Course. Page Belcher features 36-holes of championship golf and is home of the Tulsa Golf School. Play the original course, Olde Page, or the new Stone Creek Course, which both feature zoyzia grass tees and fairways, bent grass greens, numerous sand bunkers and water hazards. Southern Hill Country Club (Private) Southern Hill Country Club (Private). Designed in 1936, the private, par-71, 7,016-yard Southern Hills Country Club is No. 15 among Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.” Southern Hills offers 27 spectacular holes of golf on the 18-hole Championship Course and the West Nine Course, which feature beautiful, tree-lined fairways and challenging greens. Rich in golf history, Southern Hills CC has hosted three PGA Championships - in 1970, 1982 and 1994. The club was also the site of three U.S. Open Championships - 1958, 1977 and 2001, and has hosted five national championships - the 1946 U.S. Women’s Amateur, 1953 U.S. Junior Amateur, 1961 U.S. Senior Amateur, 1965 U.S. Amateur and the 1987 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur. South Lakes Golf Course. Located in the Tulsa suburb of Jenks, Oklahoma, South Lakes Golf Course is one of the most popular public and walkable courses in the area. The fun and exciting 18-hole, par-71 layout features Bermuda fairways, Bent grass greens, numerous sand bunkers and water hazards.
